We find ourselves in 1975, where eight young and beautiful female dancers have been chosen to their dream job in the Danish show Cirkusrevyen. The series turns the camera to the girls and zooms in on the slightly dressed dancers starring behind the great stars in the show.

The Danish tradition of revue is a piece of history itself, and a tradition the writers love and is very fascinated by. The series is an energetic cocktail of humor, pain, show, and unity served in a modern way, cause even though the show is set in the 70’s, it is not a series for the museum.
'Chorus Girls' is an entertaining and relevant series, where we are re-telling a piece of the Danish history and tries to makes up for the blind side, where we have been reduced women as a background extra in the world. In these years we are in a progress of a paradigm shift, and therefore there is room for new stories and a critical look at the past”, says the two creators, Ditte Hansen and Louise Mieritz.
They continue: “The last couple of years we have learned though the MeToo-movement, that there still are a large culture of silence that must be dealt with. Women still need to share their stories and to be believed in, to find the strength to change. By placing our history in 1975 we make a perspective to the present and understands that this is not something we can solve in one day, because sexism unfortunately is so deeply anchored in our culture and our history. Therefore, it is important to talk open about it, rewrite the history and don’t become silent again.”
The series is an ensemble story about eight women and the main character, the dancer Sussie is portrayed by Marie Bach Hansen, while the other dancers is played by Mille Lehfeldt, Olivia Joof Lewerissa, Marie Reuther, Andrea Heick Gadeberg, Nanna Finding Koppel, Coco Hjardemaal and Rebecca Rønde Kiilerich. Other cast members include Anders W. Berthelsen, Jakob Oftebro, Esben Dalgaard, Louise Mieritz, Ditte Hansen, Annika Aakjær, Helle Dolleris and Andreas Bo.
'Chorus Girls' is written and instructed by Ditte Hansen and Louise Mieritz, and the series is produced by Apple Tree Production with Piv Bernth as exective producer, Dorthe Riis Lauridsen as producer and Jennifer Green as executive producer for TV2.
The Tv-series is premiered on TV2 and TV2 Play on the 29th of January 2023.
