Wildland starring Elliott Crosset Hove premieres at the Berlinale 2020

The contemporary crime drama about love, unity and the destructive power of community will premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February.

The film revolves around the seventeen-year-old girl Ida, who, when her mother dies in a car crash, is left to live with her aunt, played by Sidse Babett Knudsen and adult cousins, played by Elliott Crosset Hove, Besir Zeciri og Joachim Fjelstrup. It’s been years since Ida last saw this part of the family, but it doesn’t take long before she feels their love and community. However, their love comes with a catch. The family’s way of living is through crime. As Ida gets more and more drawn into this world, she realises why her mother escaped and cut the bonds to the family. Now, she faces the same decision.

Wildland is a family tale of a small criminal community, in a small provincial town in Denmark. The themes however, are big and heartfelt, with a family trying to navigate within the fields of love and destructive power.

The film is a part of the official Berlinale programme and is invited to participate in Panorama, a section of the festival focusing on edgy, daring and extraordinary stories. This section is an audience favourite at the festival and it, being an audience award, has the biggest jury of the festival.

Both director Jeanette Nordahl and scriptwriter Ingeborg Topsøe has previously received great recognition from the Danish film industry and with a strong cast of both young and experienced actors they are ready to premiere at the Berlinale. Wildland will premiere in Denmark on the 12th of March 2020.

Elliott Crosset Hove jagter Christian Eriksen i rullestol i vellykket DR3 serie

Elliott Crosset Hove chases football icon in a wheelchair in new DR3’s comedy series

The Danish acting talent, Elliott Crosset Hove plays atypical football hooligan in the Danish comedy series, Klaphat.

Denmark may not have won the World Cup, but Danish film gained a new triumphant duo in DR3’s road-trip series, Klaphat. Hjalte Jensen, who is one part of the duo, is a wheelchair-bound football enthusiast troubled with muscular dystrophy, who has won a competition to go and see the Danish national team play in the World Cup in Russia. However, Hjalte, who is played in a cool and cynical manner by Elliott Crosset Hove, meets resistance from the beginning of the trip. The one responsible for this is the trip planner and self-proclaimed entrepreneur, coach, and poetry-slammer William, played by Jesper Groth, who only resembles Hjalte in also being in a wheelchair. The direct flight to Moscow is replaced by a detour on both a physical and mental level for the pair, as they are challenged by their personal differences and football fanatism at high stake championships. Hjalte’s biggest dream is to meet the star of the Danish football team, Christian Eriksen, but William is more likely to turn that into a nightmare. Yet, the newly established friendship, despite its oddness, manages to succeed at the tournament despite the Danish team’s failure.

The eight episodes long series, which premiered in January on DRTV, showcases the great talent from both Crosset Hoven and Groth. Revies have highlighted Groth’s natural act of improvising his character’s constant desire to naively question everything and Crosset Hove’s superior response of eye-rolling and unsubtle facial expressions, providing a loud answer to Groth’s character without making any sound.

Klaphat is directed by Mads Rosenkrantz Grage, who has previously made the acclaimed DR3 series Yes, No, Maybe.

Elliott Crosset Hove vinder Årets Reumert – Bedste Mandlige Skuespiller 2018

Best Actor – Elliott Crosset Hove

Best Actor for Elliott Crosset Hove
Best European Film - Europa Cinemas award
Junior Jury Award - First Prize
Ecumenical Jury Special Mention

"The figure of Emil, lead of Vinterbrødre (Winter Brothers), can't be separated from the physical presence of Elliott Crosset Hove, the young Danish actor who, after graduating at Danske Scenekunstskole in 2015, has already earned two nominations for the Robert of Danmarks Film Akademi awards and, this year, the Årets Reumert Talentpris theatrical award. It is not surprising then that the actor was chosen by Hlynur Pálmason even before writing the screenplay, giving means to the Icelandic filmmaker (his feature film debut) to draw Emil on the skin of Elliott Crosset Hove, with whom he had already worked on his own diploma short, A Painter (2013)."
