Christopher can be seen in the part of the inmate Simon in a new film by Frederikke Aspöck which puts a twist on the traditional prison story. Christopher Læssø continues his film career, which has included a part in the Palm d’Or winning film The Square, with a part in the Danish comedy-drama ‘Out of Tune’.
Christopher is educated at the Danish National School of Performing Arts and even before his studies started his acting career. Since then however, he has also had an impressive TV career as the host of some of Denmark’s most beloved shows such as ‘Denmark’s got Talent’ and ‘All Together Now’.
His new film ‘Out of Tune’ is a somewhat nontraditional prison film. It is the story of a group of quite different prisoners who meet as members of the choir in the section for those under voluntary isolation.
In the role of the inmate Simon Christopher, amongst other things, had to gain several kilos to adapt to the role and he appreciated the challenge in playing a character which falls outside of the usual stereotypes he sees in prison films: -”If you watch a movie from the last decade which takes place in a prison, the actors will tell you that they’ve worked incredibly hard for three months in order to get completely buff. But there are criminals from all parts of society, and that has to be portrayed” he told Avisen.dk
In other roles in ‘Out of Tune’ you’ll see: Anders Matthesen, Jacob Hauber Lohman and Anders Brink Madsen.
‘Out of Tune’ premiered in June 2019.
